REINING CLASS PATTERN for Friday, April 25th Horse Judging Contest
Judges Expectations:
NO Food, NO Drink rule for the Barns
- Applies to all County, State and National Fairs
- NO Food or Drink to be open / opened in the Barns
- This is a Safety issue and will be enforced.
- Example: If you have a bottle of pop/water, keep the lid on while in the barn. If you have a sandwich in a bag, don't open it until outside. Keep all food / drink contents CLOSED while in the barn. Have someone cover for you if you need to rehydrate or eat. Leave the barn!
- Wash your hands after touching your animal or use disinfectant hand gel.
DOG SHOW Participants
- Must have your Rabies / Vaccinations form filled out and ready to hand in to Kelly Haberman on show day.
- Members participating in Agility must have your Dog Agility Form in at the time of show.
- Kelly will be at the show two hours early to answer questions, hand in your forms and receive your official Dog Scarf.
WRISTBANDS
- Livestock project entrants must attend either the Wednesday, April 23rd or Thursday, April 24th mandatory meeting, held in the Beef Arena at 7:00 p.m., to receive your wristbands.
- Other project entrants must get their wrist bands from your parent or leader.
- ONLY Leaders and Parents will be allowed to pick up wristbands. NO exceptions! They will be available starting Wednesday, April 23 at the 4-H office in Boyd Hall.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
- Volunteers are needed to help guide the judging groups along, make sure the judging cards are highlighted, etc. Livestock Judging is held on Friday, April 25th at 9:00 in the Beef Arena. We would like to have about eight volunteers for this duty.
- Boyd Hall needs volunteer help during fair week to assist with Superintendents, Hall onitor, etc.
STALL CARD ABUSE
- In the past, many stall cards and thank you cards to buyers wasted, misused or lost. We really appreciate our sponsor paying for these costly cards and don't want to abuse the use. Please DO NOT use them for scratch paper, note taking, etc. The 4-H office in Boyd Hall can provide you will some paper.
HORSE JUDGING CONTEST CHANGES
- Friday, April 25th the Horse Judging Contest will be held at 8:00 a.m. at the Horse/Rodeo Arena. Some classes have change for this year.
- There WILL be a Halter class, Western Pleasure class, Reining class (NEW) and a written exam (NEW) for a combined total of 200 points. The Reining Class is the first link on this page.
- Study up on Horse Tack and Equipment, Horse Conformation, Horse Markings, etc. for the written exam.
STRAW FOR ANIMAL BEDDING
- Straw, not shavings, will be used this year for bedding animal projects. If you would like bring your own shavings, please contact the Fair Office at 509-243-4101.
