The application deadline is Friday, December 7, 2007.

2008 Master Gardener & Horticulture Classes

One of the attendees asked when the Master Gardeners should have their money in for the 2008 Master Gardener and Horticulture training. Mark will send out more information about the topics for the training and when the money needs to be in. The books that the Master Gardeners received in 2006 will be used for the training. Cost for MG veterans will be $25 for the complete training or $5 for each class. The classes start Tuesday, January 15, 2008, from 1p.m. until 5p.m and will continue through April 22nd.  Seven new applicants have signed up so far.  Mark plans to hold interviews with the potential Master Gardener interns on Wednesday, December 12th. He will invite a couple of Master Gardeners to help with the interviews and he might interview two applicants at a time to make them feel more comfortable.

Mentoring Program for New Master Gardeners

Carol has a list of the Master Gardeners who are willing to be mentors for the new applicants. If anyone wants to mentor a new intern and has not signed up, please ask Carol to put your name on the list.  Mentor training will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 1p.m., at the Asotin County Extension Office.
